denied a request from central valley farmers to temporarily block california's ambitious high- speed rail project. today a judge in sacramento denied a request to halt the $68 billion project. groups representing the farmers say the high speed rail authority should halt all the work because the state of violated environmental laws. but the judge ruled that the authority acted reasonably and in good faith. meanwhile, san francisco's sheriff is telling the mayor at least he won't give up oversight of his department's domestic violence prevention program despite being on probation in such a case. ross mirkarimi told mayor ed lee in a three page letter that his under-sheriff will handle any disciplinary actions involving his subordinates. the mayor and 38 don't want ross mirkarimi to handle his office is domestic violence related duties. ross mirkarimi is on probation after pleading " guilty " in march to misdemeanor false imprisonment for a new year's eve argument in which he bruised his wife's arm. >> the stormtracker has been heavy. with a san rafael getting busy with rainfall, and panel.

to this storm here that will bring light scattered showers over northern california all the way down into mendocino county. again, could bring a very light sprinkle over parts of the north bay. it looks like later today into the evening hours. the rest of us dry conditions in the forecast, seasonal temperatures. for your tuesday by tomorrow night, though, changes are coming. take a look here. we get through monday, we are atry for the most part, by monday night into tuesday, the storm begins to move a little bit farther south but we're still looking good. tomorrow morning we're dealing with mostly sunny skies. we could -- mostly cloudy skies. we could have some drizzle. maybe a few sprinkles over the north bay but this system will hold off into the afternoon. by late afternoon into the early evening, it's sliding across the bay area. we wake up wednesday morning we begin to dry out. we do have a few scattered showers wednesday morning but then wednesday morning before the big travel day onwards. by wednesday afternoon we're looking pretty good and thanksgiving day also looking good.

. this cloud coverage will continue towards northern california. and this continues from the northern california region. we will not see rainfall but it will be lingering. overnight temperatures will be just a little bit warmer with the futurecast showing in the 40's for the 7:00 a.m. our. i'd think we could even see 30's. by noon, we could see widespread 60s. we will see more of the 70's in the north bay. however, taking a look at the north bay temperatures we will see even 30's and it happened, and vallejo. and in-napa toward 49 degrees in san francisco. '60s and '70s with another nice afternoon. pleasanton, and also 70's and the san mateo region. with a look a your extended forecast mild and even warm as we go towards thursday cooler temperatures. in advance of that ring system. it looks like we will mainly see showers conditions with that-rainy system but possibly heavy rainfall. we will keep you posted as we go towards the end of the week. >> checking the tuesday evening traffic along the golden gate bridge. traffic looking decent. look at the bay bridge toll plaza at no problems

this month by the california nurses association. >> the windchill wipers and a live shot of s.f. 0 foregoing. >> we are picking up some light rain this morning on storm tracker 4. initially it was up north of the golden gate bridge but we are seeing some stray showers in parts of san francisco. parts of the bay bridge and impacting some of the east bay as well. around the bay area you will need windchill wipers the one-on- one approach in san rafael into ocean beach over to you richmond district. we're detecting a dry break for the bay bridge right now. some of the showers and pushed their way east and we're seeing light rain on highway 13 over portions of the caldecott tunnel. satellite and radar shows this cold front pushing its way closer to the bay area. this is a slow-moving system and the bulk of the wet weather will fall into the overnight hours. i will walk to the timing of the storm coming up in my next report. >> we are still monitoring major counter in delays this morning there was a fatality about an hour ago in palo alto. northbound train no. 103 struck and killed a pedestrian.

if continues all the way from northern california. we are just getting the tail end of this and it is kind of falling apart. there is another system off the pacific northwest that is coming our way but it is staying to the north. we could see some showers for sonoma county on monday. for tonight, look for. some of rainfall a partial clearing after midnight. and otherwise, not a bad day with a mixture of clouds and son. the forecast for next week, coming up. >> a man is in custody and the san jose police are looking for a second man in the police involved shooting and suspect. they were responsible for four different robberies in the san jose area. around 9:00 a.m. on friday it looked like the getaway car. the police chase ended at greenfield airport and one of the suspects from shooting at the police. one officer was wounded. both suspects took off running and the driver was later found hiding in a home. he was shot but is expected to survive. that second suspect is on the loose. >> in 19 year-old man pleaded guilty in a 2009 beating and gang rape of a 16 year-old girl at richmond high sch
